Tuskfish blue

Blue tuskfish

Scientific name 

Choerodon cyanodus.

Where they live

Tuskfish blue adults are found to inhabit sand and rubble areas of reef flats and flat shelf bottoms of outer reef slopes. 

They enter very shallow water and feed mainly on mollusks.

Size and age

Grow to 70cm and weigh up to 8kg.

Fishing tips

Baited hook.

Highly prone to barotrauma when caught from depths greater than 10m and should not be targeted for catch and release.
