Scientific name

Acanthopagrus pacificus.

Where they live

Found in brackish waters of estuaries, coastal rivers, tidal creeks and occasionally entering lower sections of freshwater streams. 

Juveniles inhabit protected bays and estuaries. 

Usually occur singly or small groups, but may migrate in schools.

Size and age

Have been known to grow to 50cm. Maximum age unknown.

Baited hook or jigs.
