Pearl oyster fishery
You must have a commercial licence to harvest, transport, hold and sell pearl oysters in the Northern Territory (NT).
Licences
There are five licences in the Pearl oyster fishery.

Fishing area
You can operate from the high water mark to the outer boundary of the Australian fishing zone, 200 nautical miles offshore.
Fishing method
You may only take pearl oysters by hand.
Catch limits
A total of 138,000 oysters can be collected each year.
