Summary:

A variably deformed sedimentary basin. Major exposures in Queensland.

Relationship:

Unconformably overlies Palaeoproterozoic Murphy Province. Unconformably overlain by Mesoproterozoic South Nicholson Basin and Neoproterozoic to Palaeozoic Georgina Basin. Stratigraphic equivalents to Palaeo- and Mesoproterozoic units of the McArthur Basin

Thickness:

At least 8 km.

Economic:

Hosts minor base metal occurrences in Northern Territory. Hosts Century Zn mine in Queensland.



Metamorphism:

Unmetamorphosed.
