Summary:

An intracratonic sedimentary basin that formed as part of the Centralian Superbasin and extends into Western Australia.

Relationship:

Unconformably overlies Palaeoproterozoic Pine Creek Orogen and Palaeo-Mesoproterozoic Birrindudu Basin. Unconformably overlain by  Neoproterozoic Wolfe Basin, Neoproterozoic to Palaeozoic Wiso Basin, Palaeozoic Daly Basin and Cambrian Kalkarindji Province.

Thickness:

Up to 950 m.

Economic:

No major mineral occurrences. Potential for sediment hosted base metal deposits and uranium.

  

Metamorphism:

Unmetamorphosed.
