Summary:

Forms part of the Arunta Region. A Neoproterozoic to Cambrian fault-bounded metasedimentary and igneous province that formed a deep depocentre within the Centralian Superbasin and was metamorphosed in the Ordovician.

Relationship:

Faulted contact with the Palaeo-Neoproterozoic Aileron Province. Unconformably overlain by the Mesozoic Eromanga Basin.

Economic:

Hosts Ni-Cu sulphide mineralisation, Cu (± cobalt, zinc) prospects and pegmatite-hosted REE(-U) occurrences.

Metamorphism:

Granulite to amphibolite facies.
