Trade Support Scheme - COVID-19 Quick Response Grants

The Trade Support Scheme Quick Response Grant helps you with up to $7,500 for the costs of export planning and digital solutions. This is based on a 50-50 co-contribution.

The grant allows you to create or expand export capabilities in international markets. It also helps you to adapt to the disruptions affecting global trade.

Applications for the program are now open and close on 30 November 2021.

To be eligible, you must be a Northern Territory (NT) business and:

  • a legal entity and holder of a valid Australian business number (ABN) as at 12 August 2021
  • a Territory enterprise
  • financially viable and have not had a liquidator appointed
  • open for business or plan to reopen within three months
  • have an export plan if you apply for the digital solutions category
  • acquitted of any previous funding received under the Trade Support Scheme
  • be able to provide evidence of any other eligible criteria in the application.

You can't apply if you are:

  • an individual
  • a government agency
  • a government-owned body
  • a local government body.

You can only apply for a maximum of $7,500 based on a 50-50 co-contribution.

Export planning

You can use the grant to engage a consultant to develop or update an export strategy or plan.

Digital solutions for exporters

To apply for this category, you must have a current export strategy or plan.

You can use the grant to engage a consultant to adapt your business to the digital environment.

You can use the funding for online international marketing activities, such as:

  • developing or upgrading an e-commerce platform and websites, including foreign language translations
  • innovative use of digital platforms and developing targeted social media strategies
  • taking part in virtual events or trade shows
  • promotional resources to reach international customers.

Step 2. Apply online on the SmartyGrants website.

Applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis against the below criteria.

The proposed project must:

  • support your business continuity during COVID-19
  • support you to rebound after COVID-19
  • have an export assessment
  • include evidence to support your application.

The department has discretion to approve or refuse any application.

After you apply

Eligible works must only start after an application has been approved and be completed within six months of approval.
