Territory Business Lockdown Payment Program

A fifth round of the Territory Business Lockdown Payment was established to provide immediate financial support to businesses during a lockdown.

Who can apply
To participate in the program a business must meet the definition of an eligible business and the business located in the lockdown area.
An eligible business can only apply once for a grant, regardless of the number of premises it has.
An eligible business must be all of the following at the date of the lockdown announcement:
- is located within a declared lockdown area
- is a Territory enterprise
- holds a valid Australian Business Number (ABN)
- was providing goods and / or services to the public wholly or substantially in the Northern Territory (NT)
- trading with an annual turnover of at least $75,000 and less than $10 million
- have fewer than 20 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
- stopped, suspended or reduced trading due to the lockdown and turnover reduced by 50% or more.
Who can't apply
Workers employed by a business or employer are not eligible to take part in the program.

Applications are closed.
After you apply
Applications are assessed in order of the date and time received.
If eligible, you will receive $1,000 within three to five business days of approval.
You must have a Northern Territory Government vendor ID.

The program will start when a lockdown is in place, as directed by the Chief Health Officer for the NT.
COVID-19 vaccination requirements
From 25 December 2021, vaccination requirements will apply to all:
- NT Government contractors and
- grant recipients.

The terms and conditions include an extra declaration for all Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade grants.
Applicants must confirm they are meeting the directions of the policy. The department may ask for proof to check compliance.
