National Disability Services

National Disability Services (NDS) is a peak body for disability service providers across Australia.

Located in the Nightcliff Community Centre and can be contacted on 08 8941 0634.

NDS represent over 1,000 service providers nationally.  They provide a range of resources to members and non-members, including:

  • knowing your workplace
  • building your workplace
  • optimising your workforce
  • developing your workforce.

National Disability Insurance Scheme

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding to eligible people with disability to help them access services and supports they need.

NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission

The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (NDIS Commission) is an independent agency established to improve the quality and safety of NDIS supports and services.

Provider registration

NDIS providers can be either registered or unregistered with the NDIS Commission.

Registered providers can show they meet quality and safety standards, which they can highlight when promoting their services to participants.

Worker training modules

A range of resources and interactive eLearning modules for NDIS workers are available to:

  • better support people with disability
  • understand worker obligations under the NDIS code of conduct.

Worker screening

NDIS worker screening helps reduce the risk of harm to NDIS participants by checking the suitability of workers.

Each state and territory handles its own screening process. In the NT, this is managed by SAFE NT.

Disability Strategy 2022-2032

The NT Disability Strategy 2022-2032 shows the NT Government's commitment to supporting people with disabilities.

It was developed with input from these individuals to reflect their experiences and choices.

Organisations and local councils can show their support by registering their commitment to the strategy.
