Dr Claire Streten is a research scientist at the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) and is based in Darwin. Claire's background/training and main interest is the application of molecular based environmental assessment tools in the marine environment. However, in recent years she has been increasingly involved in dredging assessments, design of environmental monitoring programs and toxicity testing applications. Claire sits on the DHAC committee as a representative of AIMS, Australia’s tropical marine research agency. AIMS is committed to undertake research that addresses real needs and provides impartial, authoritative advice, that supports both the protection and sustainable use of our marine estate. AIMS is achieving this commitment through conducting strategic and applied research into marine life, from microbes to whole-of-ecosystems, and the processes that sustain them. AIMS' contribution to the DHAC committee comes in the form of knowledge, gained over 35+ years of environmental monitoring and research. |
