Disability seating care

People with a disability can be referred to the Seating Equipment Assessment and Technical (SEAT) service in the Northern Territory (NT).

SEAT service provides clinical and technical assessments and supports to wheelchair users, families, carers and referring allied health professionals.

Services include:

  • assessment, prescription, fitting and adjustment
  • review of assistive technologies, including wheeled mobility devices
  • postural supports
  • pressure care.

The SEAT service has a workshop and technical experience to provide equipment adjustments, modifications and custom fabrication for people with complex and unique needs.

SEAT also runs clinics and provides clinical education to allied health professionals.

Eligibility for the service

You must be referred by your treating allied health professional.

You will then be assessed for your suitability for the service.
