Cancer care coordinators
A cancer care coordinator is an experienced clinician whose role is to:
- coordinate care
- help patients and families navigate cancer health services
- provide a point of contact information and support through the patient journey.
Coordinators work with patients in urology/prostate cancer, surgical wards, haematology and adolescent and young adults with cancer.
There are McGrath breast care nurses in Darwin and Alice Springs.
Community-based coordinators are also available at Danila Dilba, Cancer Council NT and the Leukaemia Foundation.
