Northern Territory Planning Scheme

Proposed changes to the scheme

The Northern Territory Planning Scheme is managed by the Minister for Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics.

It is regularly updated with changes to land use or policies.

Amendments may be any of the following:

  • a change to diagrams, text or policies initiated by the government
  • a rezoning submitted as an amendment application by a person or the minister
  • a combined amendment and development application, submitted as a concurrent application by a person.

The Northern Territory Planning Commission is an independent statutory authority that develops plans and planning policies for use alongside the planning scheme, or that may be included in the planning scheme.

Read more on the Northern Territory Planning Commission website.

To submit an amendment, go to the Development One Stop Shop.
