Expressions of Interest are now open to join the Northern Territory (NT) Government’s Community Accountability Boards in Darwin, Palmerston and Alice Springs.
We are calling for interest from local business owners, community members, non-government organisations, local councils and Aboriginal elders to join the Boards, which give a voice to local community members to:
- provide input regarding youth offending in their region
- assist in the reduction of youth offending and pathways for restoration
- offer community-based programs and development opportunities for young people to break the cycle of reoffending.
The NT Government is committed to reducing youth offending, and listening to the voices of victims and community members is crucial to achieving this.
The Boards will build stronger relationships with communities, assist enforcement efforts and improve the design, innovation and management of community based-youth justice programs, including community work orders.
Expressions of Interest are now open for membership on the Community Accountability Boards in Darwin, Palmerston and Alice Springs.
To express interest, please visit tfhc.nt.gov.au/CABs and submit your application before 5pm 21 August 2021.
