School’s in for southern students

Interstate schools can now apply for $3,000 towards the cost of a school trip to the NT as part of the Immediate Tourism Resilience Plan. The boost from $1,000 to $3,000 for the Save & Learn – NT School Excursion Program is available for interstate school groups that book an NT excursion between 1 September 2020 and 31 March 2021.

An added incentive for school groups considering their educational tours will make the Territory more appealing as a destination.

Recognising that costs and timing are major factors when planning an interstate excursion for students, the Save & Learn program encourages more schools to travel and spend extended time in the NT.

The program is available to any interstate Australian school group with a minimum of 10 students, staying at least five nights in the Territory and incorporating a minimum of three NT Learning Adventure educational experiences.

“We host school groups at the Earth Sanctuary World Nature Centre on a regular basis with our Learning Adventures and Camping Packages as well as astronomy tours, a once in a lifetime school trip for students,” said Earth Sanctuary World Nature Centre Director Dan Falzon.

“I have no doubt that the boosted incentive is going to assist us in attracting more student groups here to the Earth Sanctuary and the Alice Springs region.”
