Getaway discovers the many delights of Darwin

Channel Nine’s travel and lifestyle show Getaway have spent the past week in Darwin filming travel stories to air in early 2020. During the Darwin shoot Getaway presenter Lauren Phillips came face to face with the world’s largest reptile, diving in the Crocosaurus Cove’s Cage of Death, with the segment also featuring Crocosaurus Cove’s Big Croc Feed show and Fishing for Crocs activities

The Getaway team will also be filming a travel story with the NT’s own Outback Wrangler Matt Wright, taking an overnight adventure to his Top End Safari Camp, which features luxury tent accommodation and plenty of high adrenalin adventures.

The best free things to do in Darwin will be a feature with the Getaway team visiting the Mindil Beach Sunset Markets, the 2019 Darwin Street Art Festival, the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory and the Darwin Waterfront Precinct.

Darwin’s foodie scene is not forgotten, with the show visiting The Parap Markets, Lola’s Pergola Darwin, The Trader Bar and enjoying a pizza at Cucina sotto le Stelle.

Getaway is in its 28th season, making it Australia’s longest running lifestyle program and airs nationally as well as in New Zealand and other networks around the world.
