Positions sought for Racing Commission


Territorians are invited to play a key role in supporting the Northern Territory racing industry by applying to join the Racing Commission.

The Northern Territory Government is calling for expressions of interest from people with knowledge and experience of the racing industry to become an active member of the commission.

The key functions of the commission include:

  • licensing and regulating bookmakers including sports bookmakers
  • resolving betting disputes
  • controlling and developing greyhound racing
  • investigating matters relating to racing in the NT.

The commission is supported by the Department of Attorney-General and Justice’s Licensing NT Division.

Five positions are available including chairperson.

Interested applicants should apply in writing and clearly state their availability, full details of qualifications and experience.

Successful candidates that satisfy the eligibility requirements will be appointed for a term of up to three years, with the possibility of re-appointment.
