Keep the kids busy at the Darwin Waterfront
The Darwin Waterfront has a jam-packed calendar of events during the school holidays over the next four weeks.
There are free activities each weekday from 10am.
All activities are for school children aged five to 12 years old.
Every Monday Kingpin will bring their bowling fun outdoors.
There’ll be inflatable bowling pins and bowling ball, giant games including Jenga, Connect 4 and also free face painting to keep the kids entertained.
Kingpin will also be giving away two-for-one vouchers off bowling, laser or ropes and a special prizes for knocking all the pins down.
Get crafty on Tuesdays and make beautifully designed ‘sand cards’ with an array of coloured sands.
On Wednesdays kids can try archery with all equipment and instructions provided.
The Burning Circus will teach kids all the essential
circus skills on Thursdays.
There will be hula hoops, poi, contact ball, spinning plates, diabolos and juggling balls.
Fridays are for fun with ‘bubble sports’.
Children can step inside zorb-like inflatable bubbles where they can bounce around and play soccer and other sporting activities.
After the activities, stay for lunch and choose from a variety of cafes and restaurants.
Enjoy an afternoon at the Recreation Lagoon, either
relaxing under a shady tree, or get active on Big Buoy’s floating water park.
The floating water park is open every day, except Mondays, from 10am to 6pm. Sessions are $15 each.
Go to the Big Buoy Water Park Facebook page for more information.
Spend a day riding the swell in the popular Wave Lagoon,
open every day from 10am to 6pm.
The Wave Lagoon transforms into a tube-riding and boogie-boarding bucket of fun when the waves roll in every 20 minutes.
The Wave Lagoon is 2m at its deepest point and slopes to a shallow area of still water, perfect for all ages. Costs are $18 for a family of two adults and three children all day entry.
Watch the animated film, Inside Out (PG), under the stars for free on Saturday 2 July. Movie-goers are encouraged to arrive at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
