NT History Book Awards shortlist announced

Books about Cyclone Tracy, World War 2 and commemorative plaques at Charles Darwin University have been announced as the shortlisted candidates for the Chief Minister’s Northern Territory History Book Awards for 2015.

“The 2015 Chief Minister’s Northern Territory History Book Award recognises the most significant historical book in the Northern Territory, published throughout 2014,” Chief Minister Adam Giles said.

This year’s three shortlisted books are:

  • Radar Gunner by Dick Dakeyne
  • Warning – The Story of Cyclone Tracy by Sophie Cunningham
  • A History Written in Metal by Steven Farram

The annual award is administered by the Northern Territory Library and celebrates the contribution that the writing of Northern Territory history makes to the cultural and intellectual life of the Territory.

The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony on 1st July.
