Darwin Waterfront makes a splash
This year’s Budget will invest more than $8 million into the Darwin Waterfront to make it an even more attractive and vibrant precinct for tourists and local families.
The Darwin Waterfront is a fabulous gateway to the Territory for more than 50 000 cruise ship passengers a year and we want to make it as welcoming as possible.
A 350 metre walkway will be installed along the seawall to give cruise ship passengers a shady stroll into the Waterfront Precinct with shops and dining.
Additional pontoons will be built to support harbour cruise boats and charter vessels.
The Waterfront upgrades are part of a suite of tourism infrastructure projects that are being funded across the Territory in Budget 2015.
