AFL Indigenous Round returns to Alice Springs

Alice Springs will again host the AFL’s Indigenous Round match between Melbourne and Port Adelaide, kicking off at TIO Traeger Park tomorrow (Saturday May 30).

The game will be a hotly contested rematch in the Red Centre after the two clubs put on a great show in Alice Springs in May last year when the Demons almost toppled the more fancied Power outfit.

While in town the Melbourne Football Club’s players and personnel will be visiting schools and communities in Central Australia to spread the word about the role sport plays in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

The Melbourne Demons will today (Friday) hold a community BBQ and football clinic at Traeger Park between 1pm and 3pm, where locals will have the opportunity to get some autographs and watch the Demons players train.

Tickets to the match on Saturday can be purchased from five Alice Springs outlets:

  • Araluen Arts Centre
  • Hot Stuff 4 The Sporting Buff
  • Intersport Alice Springs
  • Lasseters Casino
  • The Paper Shoppe
