Creative residencies and fellowships

You can apply for the following grants to support your career development:

• creative residency
• creative fellowship.

Who can apply

You can apply if you're a Northern Territory (NT) artist or art worker.

Creative residencies

This is open to early and mid-career artists to access structured professional development, skills exchanges and mentoring from an NT arts organisation.

Creative fellowships

This is open to established NT artists across all art forms and creative practice to undertake a sustained period of self-directed research or professional development. Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of 10 years’ arts practice in the NT.

You must also meet the general eligibility requirements in the Arts Grants Program guidelines.

What you can apply for

If you're eligible, you can apply for the following:

• residencies – up to $20,000 to undertake:
  • mentoring from an NT arts organisation
  • collaboration, exploration and experimentation to produce new work
• fellowships - up to $40,000 to undertake:
  • research
  • creative development.

Applications open 11 September and close Friday 20 October 2023. Apply online at GrantsNT.

Applicants will be notified of funding outcomes from 1 December 2023.

You can only start activities after the funding agreement is signed.
