Young Indigenous leadership program
This page has information about the Young Indigenous Leadership Program.
The program aims to build a community of young Indigenous students across the Northern Territory (NT), and foster skills in leadership, community involvement and future pathways.
The program runs for three years from Year 10 to completion of Year 12 or equivalent.
What is involved
Your child will participate in a range of activities including leadership workshops and residential programs.
The program encourages the development of confident, self-aware and resilient young people who contribute in positive ways to their communities.
Your child will share experiences and challenges with other students throughout the program and provide support networks for each other.
Who can apply
You can apply if you are an Indigenous student based in Darwin, Katherine and Alice Springs.
Apply for the program
If you are interested in your child joining the program you must apply in Term 3 (September) of Year 9.
Your child will be selected based on their application, recommendations and interview. There are only 25 places available each year.
