Funding for economic development in remote communities

If you are a community group or an individual in a remote community, you can apply for remote Aboriginal economic development funding to:

  • develop economic opportunities
  • support and maintain connections to land and culture.

Apply for funding

You can apply for remote Aboriginal economic development funding if you are a registered organisation or individual with an Australian Business Number (ABN). 

You don't have to be registered for GST, but it is preferred. 

What you can apply for

Funding is available for:

  • small to large economic projects
  • capacity building and governance initiatives that stimulate economic development, create employment and benefit communities.

Funding is not available for vehicle purchases.

How to apply

To apply follow these steps.

Step 1. Fill in the remote Aboriginal economic development funding form

Step 2. Send the application by email or mail.
