Objections and submissions to mineral title applications
Landowners can object to the granting of a mineral title over their land. Anyone else can make a submission about the application.
How to object or make a submission
You must send your written objection or submission to the department within 30 days of the notification date on the advertisement - in the NT News or, for southern Northern Territory applications, the Centralian Advocate.
The objections and submissions will be sent to the applicant, who can choose whether or not to respond.
The department takes into account all objections and submissions when making a decision on an application.
The process is mapped below. The notes in red refer to sections of the Mineral Titles Act.
