Food recalls

A food recall removes food that may pose a health or safety risk from all of the following:

  • distribution
  • sale
  • consumption.

Why food recalls occur

A food recall may occur because of a report or complaint from any of the following:

  • manufacturers
  • wholesalers
  • retailers
  • government
  • consumers.

A food recall may also occur as a result of a food business conducting internal testing and auditing.

Current active food recalls

There are no active food recalls in the Northern Territory at this time.
