Thoroughbred racing
Thoroughbred Racing Northern Territory (TRNT) oversees all aspects of horse racing in the NT.
It manages applications and registrations including all of the following:
- jockey applications
- trainer applications
- visiting trainer permits
- track rider medical forms.

Racing clubs
The two major thoroughbred race clubs in the NT are the Darwin Turf Club and the Alice Springs Turf Club.

Racing events
The Darwin Cup carnival runs annually from July to August.
The Alice Springs Cup carnival runs annually from April to May.
