Authority for mating and to register services or litters

You must do the following to authorise another person to take temporary care of a greyhound for mating purposes:

Step 2. Submit the form at a Territory Business Centre.

Change kennels

You must inform the Licensing NT if your greyhounds change kennels. To must do the following to change kennels:

Step 2. Submit the form at a Territory Business Centre.

Remove a syndicate member

You must inform  if a syndicate member ends their membership with your greyhound. You must no longer share or participate in greyhound ownership for that syndicate.

To remove a syndicate member you must do the following:

Step 2. Submit the form at a Territory Business Centre.

Race nomination forms

You must nominate each racing greyhound before a race meeting by either of the following:

If your greyhound last raced at Winnellie Park you must fill in nomination form A.

Submit your nomination form to Licensing NT.

Register a greyhound as a stud sire

A stud sire is a registered male greyhound used for breeding.

To register a stud sire you must complete all of the following:

Step 3. Submit the form at a Territory Business Centre.

Whelping notice

You must notify Licensing NT when your greyhounds give birth, even if no puppies survive.

To complete a notice you must do both of the following:

Step 2. Submit the form at a Territory Business Centre.

Register a greyhound litter

If you have a greyhound litter you must do all of the following:

  • register a greyhound litter within three months of whelping date
  • provide details of each puppy's markings when they are two months old.

If you later register a greyhound puppy for racing purposes, the identification number shown on this form must match that on the application form.

To register a litter you must do both of the following:

Register a greyhound name

To register a greyhound name you must complete both of the following:

Take a greyhound overseas

If you want to take your greyhound overseas you must meet Australian quarantine requirements and apply for a greyhound passport.

To apply for a greyhound passport, go to the Greyhounds Australasia website.

Transfer a greyhound

For breeders

If you are a breeder and sell a greyhound puppy before it is named, you must fill in a breeder's authority form.

You must submit your breeders form at your nearest Territory Business Centre.

For owners

If you buy a greyhound puppy from a breeder and sell it before it is named, you must do the following:

Step 1. Fill in a transfer of unnamed puppy form if the greyhound is unnamed or fill in a transfer of named puppy form if the puppy is named.
