Advertising water extraction licence applications

New and increased water licence applications must be advertised to the public. 

This is to get public input for the assessment of the licence application.

This does not apply to licence renewals.

You must pay for the cost of advertising.

Submissions from the public are accepted within a 30-day period after the notice has been advertised.

A second public notice is published when a decision has been made for a water licence application. The Northern Territory Government pays for this advertising.

This notice includes the reasons for the decision and the opportunity to appeal the decision.
