Other ways to access MVR services

The Motor Vehicle Registry (MVR) office provides vehicle registration and driver licensing services across the Northern Territory (NT).

You can access the below services online or phone, or at participating Australia Post offices.

If you're an eligible business operator, you can access vehicle registration transactions through MVR for Business.

You'll need your:

  • vehicle registration number (number plate), and
  • MVR transaction number - this is the unique number on the top right hand corner of your most recent renewal notice or on your SMS reminder.

Replace if lost, stolen or damaged

To replace your driver licence, go to a post office with MVR services.

Get a roadworthy inspection through an authorised inspector (local mechanic).

You will need your:

  • MVR customer ID - on your NT renewal notice or certificate of registration and
  • licence number on the front of your NT licence or vehicle registration number (number plate).
