Learn the road rules

You have to learn the road rules for motorcycle riders to pass a theory test. This is also called the rider knowledge test.

To prepare for your test you should study the NT Road Users' Handbook and the NT Motorcycle Riders' Handbook.

These handbooks are available online or you can buy them at a MVR office or NT police station in remote locations.

When you feel confident that you know all of the information in the handbook, you can take a practice rider knowledge test.

You can test your knowledge further by reading the rider knowledge questions for learner riders (1.9 mb).
