Apply for your driver licence history

The MVR keeps records of your driver licence details.

You can apply for a search of your driver licence or address history details.

Before you apply

You can apply for a search of a licence history if you fit one of the following:

  • it's your information
  • the owner of information gave you written consent and copy of their identity (ID)
  • you have legal authority to request the information
  • you're from a law enforcement agency.

What licence information you can get 

You can access the first licence issue date, class of licence held, expiry date and sanctions recorded.

The MVR does not keep records of traffic and parking infringements, or traffic conviction history. Contact the NT Police for this information.

Other records

You can also apply for your recorded address history. Contact the MVR if you need to do a search of other details on your records.

How to apply

You need to fill in one of the following application forms:

You then have to submit your application form and other documentation to the MVR by any of the below methods.

Email

Email your completed application form, evidence of identity and residency and authority documents (if required) to mvr.infosearch@nt.gov.au.

You can pay the driver licence history search fee by Visa or MasterCard.

In person 

You can submit your application at a MVR office.

You will also need to show evidence of identity and residency and authority documents (if required).

You can pay the search fee by cash, EFTPOS, MasterCard, Visa or BasicsCard.

By mail
