Use a public bus stop or interchange for private transport services

If you run a private transport company, you can apply to use public bus stops or interchanges to pick up and drop off passengers.

For example, if you are a tour operator or private coach business operating in the Northern Territory.

You must get permission from the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics to use these facilities.

Types of bus facilities

You can apply to use the following bus facilities for pick-ups and drop-offs:

  • bus stops
  • interchanges
  • Park and Ride stations.

How to apply

You can apply to use the facilities regularly or occasionally.

Regular use

For regular use of public bus stops or interchanges, contact Passenger Transport by emailing passenger.transport@nt.gov.au.

Occasional use

For a one-off service or for occasional use, follow these steps:

Step 1. Fill in an intermittent use of interchanges and bus stops form DOCX (54.2 KB).

Step 2. Email your form to passenger.transport@nt.gov.au.
