English assessment for new taxi drivers
Taxi drivers in Darwin must pass an English assessment at Charles Darwin University before they can apply for a commercial passenger vehicle identity (CPVID) card.
The assessment is based on a national standard which measures your proficiency in the English language. This includes speaking, listening, reading and writing.
To book your English assessment or for more information contact Charles Darwin University.
If you have already passed an English assessment somewhere else in Australia or overseas, your certificate may be recognised by Charles Darwin University. Contact the university to check.
