Get your renewal notice

When your driver licence or vehicle registration is due to expire, you will get a renewal notice to your nominated postal address.

Your renewal notice will be sent 5 to 6 weeks before the expiry date.

As another option, you can choose to get them by email instead - you can't have both.

Sign up to get extra reminders

In addition to getting your renewal notice via mail or email, you can also get extra reminders through SMS and the NT Rego app.

By SMS

To get free renewal reminders by SMS, you can do any of the following:

You will receive SMS reminders one week and 2 days before your licence or registration expires.

You will also receive SMS reminders one week and 2 days after your licence or registration expires if you haven’t paid your renewal by this time.

Get notices by email

To get your renewal notice by email, follow these steps:

Step 1. Go to MVR Quickpay.

Step 2. Login using your MVR customer ID and your:

  • licence number or
  • registration number.

You can find these on your certificate of registration or on your renewal notice.

Step 3. Go to 'update my contact details' and tick 'I would like to update my email address'.

Step 4. Add your email address and tick 'I would like to receive my renewal notices via email'.

If your last vehicle registration was only for a month, the renewal notice will be sent to your nominated email address 3 weeks before the expiry date.
