Driver licences for remote residents

When you have learnt all of the information in the Road Users' Handbook , you can sit your driver theory test at your local police station.

This is also called a driver knowledge test.

About the test

The test has 30 multiple choice questions.

To pass the test, you must get at least 26 out of 30 questions correctly.

Fees

If you are enrolled in DriveSafe NT Remote, you don't need to pay a fee to take the test.

For all other drivers, you will have to:

• pay a theory test fee
• fill in the application for a NT driver / rider licence PDF (292.2 KB).
