Medical fitness to drive
Eyesight tests
You only need an eyesight test when:
- applying for your driver licence in the Northern Territory (NT) for the first time and/or
- medical or self-assessment raises concerns about your visual ability or deteriorating fitness to drive on health grounds.
There are two ways you can have your eyesight tested:
- at the MVR office
- or provide a recent eye examination from your doctor or optometrist.
