Olympic Dam Expansion
(NT Transport Option) Project
The Minister for Natural Resources, Environment and Heritage has determined that this project will be assessed at the level of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
The Olympic Dam Mine Expansion Project (Roxby Downs SA) is being jointly assessed by the Australian, South Australian (SA) and Northern Territory (NT) Governments.
The Draft EIS is now available for public comment until 7 August 2009 (See links below). As the majority of operations associated with the mine are located in South Australia, the SA Government is coordinating the EIS public submissions process on behalf of the three governments. All three governments will however have access to all public submissions, and undertake their own assessments of the EIS. For detailed information on the EIS assessment process including guidance on how to comment, please visit: www.olympicdameis.sa.gov.au.
